Frequently Asked Questions

After I entered my first period, all previous entries have disappeared from the cycle chart. Has my data been deleted?

Don’t worry, your data hasn’t been deleted. You can easily restore it by adding a period entry in the calendar before your first tracking day. Background: With NFP using the Sensiplan method, the cycle always begins with your period. Entries made before this still belong to the previous cycle and are therefore not included in the current cycle sheet – they merely ‘appear’ to have been deleted.

How do I transfer my data to a new mobile phone?

Your cycle data is linked to your ovolution account, not to the device. Simply log in to your new mobile with the same login details – once you’ve logged in, your entries will be available to you again. Important: Open the app on your old device one more time whilst connected to a stable internet connection to ensure that all entries are synchronised before you delete them from there.

My entries don’t appear on another device.

This is almost always down to synchronisation. Please check the following points in order: 1. Are you logged in with the same account on both devices? 2. Were you connected to the internet when you were entering the data? 3. Is the app up to date on both devices? Then restart the app and wait a moment. If that doesn’t help, please contact us using the form above – please include your device, app version and the time period for which entries are missing.

How do I pair my Bluetooth thermometer with the app?

How to set up a new thermometer: 1. Switch on Bluetooth on your mobile phone and place the thermometer close to the device. 2. Check your mobile phone settings to ensure the ovolution app has permission to access Bluetooth (and, on some Android devices, location services). 3. Put the thermometer into pairing mode following the manufacturer’s instructions. 4. In the ovolution app, go to Menu → Settings → Thermometer and select ‘Search’. Then select your thermometer. The thermometers currently supported by the ovolution app are the ‘Beurer OT 30’ and the ‘Ovy OT 35’.

My thermometer, which is already paired, is no longer connecting to the app.

If the connection has worked before, the following steps usually help: 1. Switch on Bluetooth on your mobile phone and place the thermometer close to the device. 2. Check whether the thermometer’s battery is still strong enough – low battery levels are the most common cause. 3. Close the app completely and reopen it. 4. If that doesn’t work, remove the thermometer in the ovolution app via Menu → Settings → Thermometer and then pair it again.

Which devices does ovolution run on?

The ovolution app is available for iPhone (App Store), for Android (Google Play) and as a web app in your browser at app.ovolution.rocks. Your account works across all three platforms – so you can enter data on your mobile and analyse it on your computer.

I've forgotten my password.

On the login screen, tap ‘Forgotten password’ and enter your account’s email address. You’ll then receive an email containing a link that you can use to set a new password. Please also check your spam folder. If you don’t receive an email at all, the account may have been created using a different email address – in that case, simply get in touch with us.

How do I cancel my subscription?

It depends on where you took out the subscription: iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ovolution → Cancel subscription. Android: Play Store → Profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → ovolution → Cancel subscription. Alternatively, you can cancel your subscription in the ovolution app by going to Menu → Subscription → Manage Subscription. If none of these three options work, please feel free to send us a quick message using the form above. Once you’ve cancelled, you can continue to use the app until the end of the paid period.

I need an invoice for my subscription or my online course.

For subscriptions you’ve taken out via the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google is your contractual partner. You can find the receipt in your purchase history in the relevant store; we are unable to issue an invoice for these. For online courses and consultations that you have booked directly with us, we’ll be happy to issue you with an invoice – please contact us using the form above, stating your name and the date of purchase.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

You can delete your account at any time in the app under ‘Settings’ or by sending us a quick message. We will then completely delete your account, including your cycle data. Two things to note: the deletion cannot be undone – so make sure you export anything you want to keep beforehand. Also, this will not automatically cancel any active subscriptions you have via the App Store or Google Play; you’ll need to cancel these separately in the respective store.

What data does ovolution store, and how can I request a copy of my data?

Details of what we store, for how long and on what legal basis can be found in the app’s privacy policy. Your cycle data is health data – we treat it accordingly. You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it rectified, to have it erased and to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the form above or email us directly at hello@ovolution.rocks – we will reply within one month, free of charge.

ovolution is a medical device – where can I find the instructions for use, and how do I report a problem?

The ovolution app is a Class I medical device. You can find the full electronic instructions for use (e-IFU) on this website under ‘Instructions for Use (e-IFU)’, linked in the footer of every page. On request, we will send you a hard copy free of charge. If you notice any serious incident relating to the app, please report it to us at hello@ovolution.rocks – and also to the relevant authority in your country (in Germany, the BfArM). We investigate every report.

How do I access my cycle data from the Ovy app?

The Ovy app itself does not offer a self-service export option to CSV or JSON. All the app offers is the option to export the cycle chart as a graph or PDF to share with your gynaecologist – and even for this, Ovy now refers users to its support team: anyone wishing to export their cycle charts as a PDF should contact customer service. The way to obtain machine-readable data is via Article 20 of the GDPR. Realistically, this is the only reliable route to accessing your raw data. Ovy is a German company and is obliged to provide you with the data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format – free of charge and within one month. You can submit your request via Ovy’s support form: https://ovysupport.zendesk.com/hc/de/requests/new Template for your request: Subject: Right of access and right to data portability pursuant to Articles 15 and 20 of the GDPR Dear Ovy Team, I hereby exercise my right to access data in accordance with Article 15 of the GDPR and my right to data portability in accordance with Article 20 of the GDPR. I request that all cycle data stored in my account (temperature readings, periods, cervical mucus, interfering factors, cycle limits, analyses) be provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (CSV or JSON). A PDF report does not meet this requirement. My account is linked to the following email address: [your email address] Please confirm receipt of my request and provide me with the data free of charge within one month (Article 12(3) of the GDPR). Should any individual data not be transferable, please provide a brief explanation. Yours faithfully, [your name] You really should leave the sentence about the PDF report in – otherwise, experience shows that you’ll just get a PDF back anyway.

How do I get my cycle data from the Flo app?

Flo doesn’t offer a proper CSV or JSON export of your cycle data via the standard app menu either. However, Flo does provide a data export option via the Privacy Portal or its support service: You’ll usually receive your data in two separate emails – one containing the encrypted file and one with the password for it. According to Flo, it applies GDPR rights to all users, regardless of where they live. To request machine-readable raw data, email privacy@flo.health (or alternatively support@flo.health) and make it clear that a PDF is not sufficient. Replies are usually in English, but you can write in German. Template for your request: Subject: Right of access and right to data portability pursuant to Articles 15 and 20 of the GDPR Dear Flo Health Team, I hereby exercise my right to access data in accordance with Article 15 of the GDPR and my right to data portability in accordance with Article 20 of the GDPR. I request that all cycle and health data stored in my account (period and cycle data, basal body temperature, symptoms, cervical mucus, notes, analyses and forecasts) be provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (CSV or JSON). A PDF report does not meet this requirement. My account is linked to the following email address: [your email address] Please confirm receipt of my request and provide me with the data free of charge within one month (Article 12(3) of the GDPR). If the data is sent in encrypted form, please send me the password in a separate email. Yours faithfully, [your name] English version, if you need it: Subject: Data access and data portability request under Articles 15 and 20 of the GDPR Dear Flo Health team, I hereby exercise my right of access under Article 15 of the GDPR and my right to data portability under Article 20 of the GDPR. Please provide all cycle and health data stored for my account (period and cycle data, basal body temperature, symptoms, cervical mucus, notes, analyses and predictions) in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (CSV or JSON).
